Sooz, our new curate writes:

Hello everyone!

My name is Sooz Magee and I am very excited to be joining you, along with Colin, my husband and our kids Maeve and Charlie. We also share our home with Belle our cat, who is a very important member of our family.

I grew up in Stourbridge and it is where I gained my Nursey Nursing Diploma at Stourbridge College. During that time I became a Christian, just before my 20th birthday back in February 1999. My faith journey has been bumpy, life giving and has helped me to persevere and be sustained, throughout life’s ups and downs.

I spent the first half of my twenties engaged in Christian missionary work both here in the UK and abroad. In that time, I completed a number of training courses related to Christian Counselling and Christian Discipleship. Whilst completing the course in Christian Counselling I was involved in supporting people who were homeless, and this experience sparked my interest in working with those on the fringes of society. In 2020, I completed an applied BA Theology degree, where I began to realise God was calling me to ordained ministry.

As a family we enjoy days out to our favourite National Trust places, such as our favourite cliff walk in Brean. We like to discover new independent coffee shops and enjoy Syrian food. I relax by being creative such as attending drawing workshops and making the garden look pretty.  I am very much looking forward to meeting you all, as I serve my curacy title post at St Wulstans, St Barnabas, Christ Church and as part of a cluster with St. Nicholas, across the three parishes.
