On Friday 6 March, our churces will join with communities in more than 150 countries for the annual World Day of Prayer, a global, women‑led movement that has been uniting Christians in prayer and action for well over a century. Each year, a different country prepares the service, inviting the world to see through their eyes, hear their stories, and pray with them for justice, peace, and hope.
For 2025, the service has been created by the women of Nigeria, who offer the theme:
“I Beg You… Bear With One Another in Love”
(Ephesians 4:1–3)
Rooted in Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity and its ongoing pursuit of unity, this theme calls the global church to practise patience, gentleness, and mutual forbearance as a shared act of discipleship. Through Scripture, testimony, music, and prayer, we are invited to stand alongside Nigerian women as they witness to resilience, faith, and the power of love in community.
We warmly invite you to be part of this worldwide wave of prayer as it passes through our own parish. All are welcome.
