Being a Parish Church

Alison Maddocks, Diocesan Stewardship Officer, and I chatted about some of the financial issues that all churches, and especially churches in lower income communities like ours, are facing. We discussed four key questions.

  1. Thank you Sarah and Alison that was a very interesting discussion and the questions answered in such away easily understood

  2. Thank you Sarah and Alison it made it a lot plainer what the Parish Share is used for. Hopefully more people will watch and understand a little better

  3. Just watched Alison Maddock and Sarah regarding stewardship,. what started as a low ebb ie Rob Jones saying any later we would not have a vicar, basically we are the poor relation..….(it would make more sense to use St Wulstan as the hub for the other churches in the cluster because of our natural infrastructure)…… I thought both Alison and Sarah were extremely good at giving out the stewardship message without being overpowering and keeping the vison alive by utilising the ‘new’ resources we are becoming accustomed to. Money is always an issue within the church, for which we should all take responsibility for, and rely on faith and hope that God s plan will reveal itself. Well done Sarah for arranging this session and well done Alison for her projection of what can be a very difficult message. Also ditto for the messages from Lorna and Angela.
